I have a few client sites set up using this feature because they tend to get brute force attacks regularly, but I’ve noticed that this doesn’t stop them and last night one client’s site was breached by a hacker and they actually logged in as the admin user.
The link I chose was just random letters and numbers, not a word, yet hackers always get to it very easily (I’ve tried changing it a few times in the past). I don’t think this idea of renaming the login actually does anything to prevent hackers from accessing the admin.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
thanks!
